5 straight days in the green band, Sep 19–23, with Sunday the 20th the standout

Wind goes past the 10-knot green line on 2 days — Mon the 14th, Wed the 16th. Everything else is inside the line, so rain and cloud decide the rest.

Sunday Sep 20 is the pick: peak wind 7.8 kt, 0.00 in of rain, 64°F at the warmest, and a 8.6 ft tidal range. Saturday the 19th is the next best at 6.0 kt.

Draft — not verified by a human. This table has not been checked against the live regulations, and seasons change in-season by emergency rule. Drafted from WDFW sport fishing rules, digital edition of 18 Jun 2026, Marine Area 10. Confirm with WDFW before you fish. Do not rely on it.

Release Chinook and chum through Sept 30. From Oct 1 only Chinook must be released — chum become legal, which is the point of fishing here in late autumn. Closed Nov 16 – Mar 30.

East Elliott BayOpenSept 1 – 30,

East and west Elliott Bay are separate fisheries with separate dates. The Duwamish waterways around Harbor Island carry a night closure and the anti-snagging rule in these periods.

Two days a week, not five — Area 10 ran Sundays and Mondays where most of the Sound ran Thursday through Monday. Males only, minimum 6.25″; release soft-shell, females and undersized. The winter season has not been announced; WDFW announces winter Puget Sound crab in September.

PiersOpenYear-round2
max 1 Chinook, min. 22″
Bremerton Boardwalk, Illahee State Park Pier, Seacrest Pier and Waterman Pier run their own year-round season: two fish, no more than one Chinook, 22″ minimum on Chinook.
Clams, oysters, musselsCheckBy beachEach beach has its own season and biotoxin status. Biotoxins are not destroyed by cooking or freezing. Check the DOH map the day you dig.

Area 10 is the most sub-divided water on this site. East Elliott Bay, west Elliott Bay, the Duwamish waterways, Sinclair Inlet, Agate Pass and four named piers each carry their own dates and limits, and the area-wide rule applies to none of them. Read the boundary descriptions in the rules before you decide which one you are fishing.

Agate Pass is catch-and-release, fly fishing only, January through March, with lead core line prohibited. It is easy to arrive there under the area-wide rule and be wrong about all three.

This is a convenience summary, not the regulations. Seasons move on short notice, and this table was transcribed from the published rules and has not been checked by hand. Confirm on WDFW's emergency rules page or the Fish Washington app before you leave the dock, and check shellfish on the DOH Shellfish Safety Map or the biotoxin hotline at 1-800-562-5632.

Per angler is fish divided by anglers checked at that ramp, across every check in the window — it mixes salmon, lingcod and halibut trips together, and one good weekend can carry a whole month. A ramp with few checks is a small sample, not a slow ramp. Figures come from WDFW's Puget Sound sampling summaries, which are published on WDFW's own schedule and can run a week or more behind.
